Job Ad & Profile Description

Position : Programmes Officer

The Programmes Officer will ensure the implementation of programme strategies focusing on achievement of programme goals and objectives in line with UCSOND’s mission, vision and core values. Specific responsibilities include:
 

  • Identification of opportunities for initiation of new projects, active contribution to the overall office effort in resource mobilization;

  • Analysis and research of information on donors and programme partners, preparation of substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation;

  • Organization, preparation, collation and consolidation of annual work plans and budget administration for activities;

  • Analysis and synthesis of proposals, draft terms of reference on the areas for support and interventions;

  • Support the design and formulation of programmes within the area of responsibility, translating priorities into local interventions;

  • Support management of programme resources, supervise the administration of accounts and follow up budgets and expenditures;

  • Technical, financial and substantive monitoring and evaluation of the projects, identification of operational and financial problems, development of solutions;

  • Preparation of inputs for reporting, supervise collation, consolidation and review of quarterly, annual and other reports.

  • Assesses project performance to identify success factors and incorporates best practices into project work;

  • Researches linkages across programme activities to identify critical points of integration;

  • Monitors specific stages of projects/programme implementation;

  • Ability to perform a variety of standard tasks related to Results Management, including screening and collecting of programme/ projects documentation, projects data entering, preparation of revisions, filing, provision of information.
     

Building Strategic Partnerships:
 

  • Maintains an established network of contacts for general information sharing and to remain up-to-date on partnership related issues;

  • Analyzes and selects materials for strengthening strategic alliances with partners and stakeholders;

  • Analyzes information/databases on potential and actual donors.
     

Job Knowledge/Technical Expertise:

 

  • Understands and applies fundamental concepts and principles of a professional discipline or technical specialty relating to the position;

  • Possesses basic knowledge of organizational policies and procedures relating to the position and applies them consistently in work tasks;

  • Strives to keep job knowledge up-to-date through self-directed study and other means of learning;

  • Demonstrates good knowledge of information technology and applies it in work assignments.

Required profile for job ad : Programmes Officer

The United Civil Society Organisations for National Development (UCSOND) is an NGO working in the six coastal districts, and the Wassa Amenfi East District of the Western Region of Ghana. Each of these districts is either affected by the operations of the oil and gas industry, mining activities or both.

UCSOND is looking for a full-time Programme Officer to join our team and strengthen our capacity for our current and future programmes. The Programme Officer will supervise and lead programme support staff, and work in close collaboration with local and International donors and partners.
